Coming on our hikes will provide your dog with a safe outlet for social interaction and physical exercise. At Bossy Paws we like to focus on individual dogs and their needs, by hiking in smaller packs of roughly 6 dogs, and hiking for a longer period of time (75-120 minutes), we can ensure every dog’s needs are met before they are returned home. Throughout the hike we will practice heeling, both on and off leash, as well as recall from different distractions. We will work on neutrality with other dogs, general trail manners, and engagement with the handler.*

*Although we like to focus on obedience and structure, our hikes are not intended to replace proper training, they are intended to help you maintain and work towards your training goals outside of hiking.

how do our hikes work?

We typically start pickups around 7:45-8:00am, once the pack is all picked up we will make our way to our hiking location. Every pack member will be equipped with a Garmin satellite tracking collar which connects to a handheld device which updates every 2.5 seconds. Each hike will be a minimum of 75 minutes.

For our afternoon pack, pickups will start once the mornings drop offs have been completed, ideally this will be around 12pm. All afternoon hikers should be returned home by 4pm at the latest. However, these times are estimates and can change daily depending on routes, traffic, and weather conditions.

All dogs will be towelled off before being returned home if necessary. If you would like your dog to be rinsed before entering the home, we are happy to do so if provided with an outdoor hose.

Packs will be arranged by area and dog compatibility, at this time we cannot guarantee morning or afternoon hikes so we ask for your flexibility in scheduling. We will do our best to accommodate any special circumstances in which a specific hiking time is required.
